Update time

Sorry for being MIA.
had a few hiccups this week, not bad ones just annoying ones.

firstly well I bought new good scales, ones that read fat and water content etc. Anyway they weigh differently than my old scales and of course I weigh more on these ones. urgh!!!

so since the amount I lost is the same just the numbers are different I have amended my ticker at the top of the blog to reflect what my start weight would have been on this scale, etc. So we are good on that now ;) Phew!!

Next I goofed up with our meal ordering and forgot to do it before I went to work on Thursday, got home at around 1pm and the deadline was 12 noon. so our order defaulted to the first order we did which means my week 3 was 1500 calories. I am trying to be good believe me :) So from now on I think we'll order on the Wednesday, that way I can't goof up.

Okay catchup time and some meal pics.

Week2 Day 4
pretty standard day, meusli for breakfast and a yoghurt in the morning for a snack, nectarine too. Can I just say the nectarines are really delicious and fresh. so good I bought some extra ones to have in stead of an orange, I much prefer them to an orange. Hmm guess I better look up the calories difference on that.
Lunch well I didn't get it till later that night. I had work and hubby had a presentation to do which I always go along to. I didn't get home from work till around 4 so I sort of skipped lunch unintentionally then had it later when we got home. not a good thing I know.
I had corned beef, mash potato and carrots and beans for dinner, it was really good and because we were dashing out to the presentation I forgot to take a photo. sorry. here's a pic of it for you though. I found one in the LnE booklet, a little blurry but you get the idea. I really enjoyed it :)

Week 2 Day 5
Vanilla Crunch Cereal with skim milk has become my favorite of the cereals, yummo!
Chicken Burger with beetroot relish and tomato on a round roll. the roll wasn't very big but by the time I put everything on it, well it was plenty. the beetroot relish was good ;)
Dinner was their new fragrant Thai chicken. Very fragrant, I could still smell the fragrance in my nostrils at bedtime LOL. it was okay, not as nice as the chicken satay but good all the same.

some pics of lunch and dinner
that's my water bottle sitting to the right of my chicken burger.

Fragrant Thai Chicken

Week2 Day 6
favorite breaky of all - a picture says it all
my egg stuck to the pan though cause I used no oil of course.
Lunch was Thai Fried Rice with chicken, quite good

Dinner Steak with Creamy Mushroom Sauce, okay, not the same when you microwave a pre-cooked steak but hey it's a diet people!! :)

Week 2 Day 7
Breaky was fruit n bran cereal and wholegrain and oat toast. the fruit n bran cereal is basically sultana bran. the wholegrain and oat bread used here I think may be Burgen, you can see info on it here  I think the fruit n muesli bread is theirs too, it's small and theirs is the only fruit with muesli I have seen.
Lunch was pasta carbonara, pasta with bacon in a white sauce, no pic sorry, I forgot.
Dinner Honey Soy Chicken, yummy but not a lot of rice.

So this 2nd week, on weigh in day Saturday that is, I had lost another 1.5 kg

starting weight        99.9 (220.241 lb)OMG

Week 1 weight        97.6  lost 2.3 kg  (5.07 lb)
Week 2 weight        96.1 lost 1.5 kg  (3.3 lb)
total lost to date        3.8kg (8.37 lb)

Week 3 Menu

Week 3 Day 1 1500 calories (this should be interesting!!)
Breakfast Creamy Bircher Muesli - I found this quite nice. I've seen a few people post that it was disgusting, but you have to remember this is a diet and bircher muesli is mixed and left to get soggy and thick, it has apple juice in with the muesli too so it has a little tang to it. I like it! so does hubby, but we are muesli people. Just usually in larger quantities in my case rofl.

Apple for a snack, another great fresh one :)

Lunch
Thai Beef Salad, this was quite tasty

Thai Beef Salad
Peach fruit cup for a snack ( I tend to save these for after dinner maybe I shouldn't)
Dinner
Chicken with Satay Sauce, one advantage of having the same meals as week 1 is I know which ones are nicer LOL.

Week 3 Day 2
2 slices of fruit n muesli toast with spread and a vanilla yoghurt, an orange for snack (replaced with a nectarine)
Lunch, Greek Meatballs with Roma Tomato & Fetta Salad, this had those risoni pasta thingies and beans of varying types. I just ate it and tried not to think of the week 1 chicken salad that this reminded me of. I survived anyway. the meatballs were good.

snack fig and pecan cookie (OHHHH YEAH!!!) now you're talking, these rock!
Spinach and Fetta Muffin (on my yuck list - gave it to hubby)

Dinner Curried Beef Sausages, you've seen this before so I won't post it again. Still yummy. and filling enough too.

Week 3 Day 3 this is today so we are up to date Yay!

Breakfast Classic Fruit Muesli and two slices of wholegrain and oat toast.
Snack two fruits fruit cup
Lunch Chicken Nachos with melted cheese and a side salad with tomato Vinaigrette, surprisingly yummy.
Apricots and pears with sultanas, I'll have this later on

Chicken Nachos and Salad with tomato vinaigrette

Snacks - not sure if I'll have both of these or give one to Michael for work snack.
Cinnamon Oat Bar
Apple and Sultana Pancake.

Dinner, no idea what I'll have yet, but I'll come back and post an image for you :)

I went for a solo bike ride today. My Hubby Michael found a good long track through a park near the airport but on our side of Botany Bay so I did 1 1/2 hours on the bike down there today. 18.6 km I think the taco said. that's 11.55 miles for you imperial people. :)

okay take it easy and if you are on this journey too, stay strong, you can do it!! and so can I!

Week2 Day 2 and 3

Day 2
Sorry this is a catch up post, serves me right for not blogging last night!
Well today was quiet, lots of computer work got done, but no real exercise and the meals were not all photographed, sorry. I will try and fill in with a pic from LnE website if I can find one

Breakfast - 2 weetbix and skim milk and one slice muesli fruit toast with meadow lea spread.
Snack Kiwi Fruit
Lunch - Roast Chicken Tender with avocado and Baby Leaf Salad in a wrap then Peaches with raspberry sauce, very nice and fresh.
Snack - Popcorn - had this watching tellie at night
Dinner - Porcupines with Mash potatoes and veggies

Day 3
So today I had to go renew my license. I walked, a good steady pace, weights in hand, ipod in ears, backpack on back and off I went. 30 minutes or so there and then another 30 minutes back, at a cracking pace!! lots of doof doof music to keep me pounding away at the pavement. My Driver's License photo looks horrid but maybe I should have let myself cool down before going in LOL. Now I have to live with that ID for 5 years. Oh well maybe people will think I look "so much better now" when they see My ID then they see me.bwahahhahaha!!!

So today's meals, remembering I am now on 1200 calories, so it's less stuff, less snacks too.

Breakfast - Grilled Cheese and Tomato on a Toasted Multigrain Muffin
Snack - Red Apple
Lunch - Thai Meatballs with Asian Coleslaw and Dressing. (NOT A FAN!!) I ate the Meatballs then threw out the coleslaw, the dressing wasn't very nice, I would have preferred it undressed if I had known what it was going to be like.  White Nectarine, yum (had it just before I blogged tonight)
Snack  - Raspberry and Apple Crumble DELICIOUS!!!
Dinner - Tortilla Stack loved this, this is vegetarian but soo good, though a little spicy and I will get heartburn from it ;)

Hubby had the beef n black bean, basically as good as any you'd get at a take-a-way.

and here is the Raspberry and Apple Crumble.  Hmmmm!!!

Until tomorrow

Week 1 Weigh In, so how'd I do?

well I jumped on the scales at 7:30 am and I was 96.7 kg, so I lost 2.3 kg, that's just over 5 pounds for those in the imperial parts of the world.

I am happy with that, and I think most of my excess fluid is now gone. So next week should be starting on the fat kilos.

Our fridge looked pretty bare yesterday before the drop off of our week's food, take a peek in our fridge LOL looks like a bachelor's fridge LOL

So I am wondering if it's good luck or bad to have a bird fly into your house, I came home from work yesterday and there was a strange rustling noise coming from what should have been our empty dining area. I thought we had an intruder, well turns out we did but not the kind I was worried about. It was a bird that must have fell down our chimney and then couldn't get out. I eventually caught the poor thing and let it go out the back yard. While it was fluttering at this window and trying to get out it's mate was outside this window on the fence squawking away at it. Aint Love Grand!!! :)

So Today's Meals so far, I'll update with dinner later on.

Breakfast
Apricot Yoghurt Crumble, so this was some toasted muesli on a yummy apricot with some apricot puree and yoghurt, yummy yummy. plus one slice of wholegrain and oat toast with Vegemite, yeah I substituted jam.
Snack
Two Fruits Fruit Cup
Lunch
BLT Salad this was Lettuce with chopped up cherry tomatoes and chopped up boiled egg with crispy bacon pieces scattered over and drizzled with  French Viniagrette.  A Red Gala Apple.
The salad was added to my favourites list, it was delish!!
Snack
Classic Choc and Oats Bar  (can't wait to have this)  (edit - it was yummy)
Dinner  Braised Lamb Shanks yummo!

Day 5 Menu and pics

Okay So I figured you maybe might prefer to just see my day's rations in one post LOL.
So I took pics of each meal today, hanging off till tonight to post them.

Another day of pleasant meals, one not so hot snack but all in all a good day.

First up I had the Vanilla Crunch Cereal with Skim Milk, this was really really YUMMY
then I was supposed to have Grilled chees on toasted multigrain muffin, but I made an executive decision and had just a scraping of strawberry jam instead.
Morning Snack Red Apple (notice it's a lovely fresh perfect apple - I've heard others complain of getting bad fruit from LnE but ours is always really fresh

I can hear you all wondering what the green things in the cereal are, well those are pepitas, those trail mix seeds, they give the cereal a nice crunch actually.

Lunch was even better, remember the cheese I didn't use at breakfast, well Lunch was Fettuccine Bolognaise, so guess where the cheese ended up LOL.
I saved the orange for after dinner
Afternoon Snack was a Citrus Sultana Oat Biscuit, quite nice
Spinach & Fetta Muffin, no not my cup of tea, Michael ate it, but we wouldn't get it again.

Dinner, another hit for me, Chicken Sate, really good!!

Michael had the Crumbed Fish with wedges and vegies, said the fish was ordinary but okay, and the vegies were nice, even the wedges which he wouldn't usually have, he's more a chips or fries kinda guy.

I am feeling like I have lost some fluid for sure, my ankles are ankles today LOL.
I guess we'll find out soon enough on Saturday :)

Day4 Lunch Meatball Pasta Primavera

yep it was quite nice, and it looks pretty good too for only 225 calories. Can't beat that really.

You have to admit once it's put into a real bowl or onto a real plate, these meals don't look like a frozen tv dinner :)  I also had a small tub of pears (83 calorlies) with this for lunch but I'm hanging off an hour before having that. Basically so that I can save the afternoon snacks for later on.

They are a slice of  50g Sultana Tea Cake (yes CAKE!!!) 118 calories  and cheese on wafer crisps. 68 calories and 54 calories.
then dinner which I can choose what I want from the LnE dinners we have in the freezer. It doesn't matter which one you have as they are similar in calories.

Total calories for lunch and snacks 448

Day 4 of Lite n Easy

So pics all day today ;)
I don't think I told you that I am on the 1500 calorie plan. This will change when I have lost a few kilos, then I will go down to 1200 calories, which basically is a few less snacks, or one slice of toast instead of two, things like that.

Anyway... this is what I had for breakfast today. Day 4 1500 calorie plan Menu D
Classic Fruit Muesli 35g with skim milk (from my daily 1 1/2 cup allowance) 135 calories
Wholegrain and Oat Toast 41.5g  with Strawberry Jam (real jam not diet jam) 83 + 39 = 122calories
Greek Style Passionfruit yoghurt 100g,  114 calories

Breakfast total calories 371
all was Delicious ;)

Catch you for Lunch

Dinner pics

So Michael is only getting breakfasts and dinners. With his shift work it would be a waste to get 3 meals a day. His breakfasts run the same as mine at the moment anyway :)

For breakfast today we had 2 wholemeal pikelets with Fruit Compote (tasted sort of like fruit mince pies filling) plus a slice of wholegrain toast with peanut butter. Michael used our own peanut butter as they gave us smooth and he prefers crunchy.

Morning Snack was a Vanilla yoghurt. All quite yummy ;)

For my Lunch today I had a Long Multi-grain  Roll with Curried Egg Spread and baby leaves very nice ;) Plus a kiwifruit which I skipped.

Afternoon Snack Tropical Nut Mix (mostly sultanas and a few cashews) and a Fig and Pecan Cookie

(the cookies so far have been very yummy and are deceiving, they don't look very big but they are substantially filling)

I posted my first blog post just before Dinner so I hadn't taken any pics of breaky and lunch. But I did take pics of dinner.

Michael had Chicken Dijon  - no complaints from him LOL.

I had Chicken with Almonds, I nearly couldn't eat it all, it was really quite filling, and did I mention, Yum!!

I forgot to mention that we started the program on Saturday last, so weigh in day for us is Saturday morning. Hoping for a big number since half of it will be fluid loss.

I wanna be ME!!!

This is ME today.

I have always carried weight, excess weight. and 3 months ago when my Husband and I quit smoking it ballooned even higher. It's time to act... or die!!

So, in an effort to keep my self honest and accountable I have chosen to track my weight loss journey on the Lite 'n' Easy diet plan.

As moral support, my dear husband is on the plan too, just he's on more calories since he is not really overweight, it's more so I don't have to cook twice.

WE chose this plan because it's calorie controlled and you can't cheat. Well we can't now as the fridge is almost cleaned out and there is very little besides LnE in there LOL.

So let's make a start, the ugly truth first of all...

My Stats
weight - 99 kg / 218 lbs
height - 164 cm / 5 ft 4 in
waist - 111cm
BMI - 36.88
Goals

weight - 67 kg or less
waist - less than 90cm healthy range
BMI - less than 25 healthy range

So comment if you like, cheer me on or share your thoughts in the comments section.
I'll be posting images of what we eat from day to day and what I find are the pros and cons of LnE I'll even start a Yummy and Yucky list for those thinking of starting on the plan themselves.
